Bright Horizons Tintenbar is a 56 place service located int the Northern Rivers suburb of Tintenbar and we are only 15 mins from Ballina and its beautiful beaches.
We have 3 learning classrooms divided into age groups; Nursery (0-2 years), Toddlers (2-3 years and Preschool (3-5 years).
Inside our building we have an large additional playspace that is accessed by all classrooms. This space is an extension of the classrooms and provides the opportunity for children to engage in a variety of activities and includes a dedicated climbing area and obstacle course. It is also used at the beginning and the end of each day where all classes are combined and children have the opportunity to play with peers of different ages.
Our service is located in a rural setting that offers a peaceful and quite outdoor space for the children. We have a very large playground area at the rear of the service and a smaller outdoor play area dedicated to our 0-2 years age group.
My name is Melanie Haigh and I have been the Service Manager at Bright Horizons Tintenbar since February 2020. I am very proud of the service we provide here at Tintenbar and believe in creating a warm and welcoming environment for families and their children that feels like a home away from home. I have a husband two beautiful daughters named Ruby and Summer. Being a mother, I understand the trials and tribulations of parenting and being a working mum and I feel this allows me to have a deeper understanding and empathy for the families of our service.
I hold a Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood and have worked in all roles of long day care since 2000. I have predominantly been in a management role since 2006 and have worked for both large and small early childhood organisations. I believe children are capable and confident beings and that it is the role of the early childhood educator to support and nourish their growth and development through play, in a safe and caring environment.
